Concord Farmers' Market

Farm Fresh Produce in Concord.

Bring your family, bring your shopping bags and stock up on delicious farm fresh local produce and join in all the fun.

Stalls include: Fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh meats, fresh poultry, honey, olive oils, freshly baked breads & cakes, farm fresh eggs plus much more!

The Concord Farmers Market is managed and operated by the Rotary Club of Concord as a local community project. Our aim is to provide high quality local and regional produce from authentic farm & food supplers where the stalls are manned by the producers. All proceeds from Concord Farmers Market help the Rotary Club of Concord support Local, National and International Projects and Charities.

The Concord Farmers’ Market are held on the 1^st and 3^rd Sunday of the Month (except January), at Cintra Park (car park) off Crane Street Concord.

Market trading is between 9.00am and 1.00pm EST.

We have spaces available for new stallholder to sell their primary produce.

9. If you have a question during the meeting AND are using a PC, laptop or tablet please click the Chat speech bubble icon and type it into the Chat panel. Please note this feature does not work as well with a mobile phone.
10. Guest speaker's presentations will be recorded, however, individual meeting participants video feeds are only be captured in the recording if zoom detects audio from their channel.  Pease ensure you are not accidentally recorded by muting your microphone to avoid any ambiant or background noise being transmitted to the meeting during the speakers presentation.

This meeting will be a club assembly in preparation for our visit from District Governor Warwick Richardson who will be joining us on 7th September 2020. 

Club assemblies offer an opportunity to exchange ideas and share information about issues that are important to you!  We encourage all members to attend, especially new members so we can get to know you better and learn what your interests and concerns are.

Guest Speaker - John Walters - See It * Say It * Share It

John Walters from the Rotary Club of Engadine will be joining us to speak about See It * Say It * Share It, a Rotary project that supports literacy in our First Nations settings using I.R.I.S. - Immersive Reading - Indigenous Support.

See it, Say it, Share it takes a fresh approach to supporting indigenous literacy using Immersive Reading and Iconic Reading.  Immersive Reading (PAIR) consistently provides children with enhanced literacy opportunities by supporting parents and 'reader' in the 'read aloud' and 'tell aloud' situations.

All yarns and factual content are inspired or told by local communities, the literacy scaffolding is designed by early literacy educators and printing costs are supported by local Rotary Clubs.

John is …

• a reading specialist - focusing on pre-literacy & reading-readiness,
• a researcher &
• an award-winning writer.

Previously he was …

• a school principal
• a curriculum consultant
• a lecturer at the University of NSW

During the past five years he has been working with teams at the University of Sydney and University of Wollongong in Australia, along with the University of Liverpool and Manchester University in the UK.

John speaks locally and internationally (prior to C-19) about early literacy and has recently returned from speaking engagements in England, Denmark and Finland.

March is the International Month of Endometriosis Awareness. Inline with this the Rotary Club of Concord is hosting a High Tea to be held on the Verandah overlooking the green and beautiful rose garden at Concord Golf Club. Our aim is to raise funds and awareness for Endometriosis Australia whilst enjoying a relaxing afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings.

Endometriosis or Endo is a common disease affecting more than 1 in 10 women at some stage in their lives. That's over 830,000 women in Australia alone. Worldwide 176 million women suffer from endometriosis. It is a disease that can begin in teenagers and can lead to infertility. Diagnosis can take from 7 to 12 years and there is no cure, so it's very important for women and men to know the signs and symptoms because this is not a disease that affects just women, it affects families and communities.
