What is Rotary?

Rotary is the worlds' largest humanitarian service organisation.  It is non-denominational and its members (Rotarians) are volunteers.  Rotarians are men and women of all ages and from all walks of life who want to make a difference in their communities.

What can the Rotary Club of Concord offer you?

  • Stimulating dinner discussions each week with guest speakers in pleasant surroundings
  • Involvement in international and locally-based projects that make a difference
  • Fun social interaction and the opportunity to build personal and business relationships
Interested in making a difference?  If you would like to visit our club you will be most welcome.  Come along as a guest to some of our meetings!  We meet for dinner on Monday evenings at 6:00 pm for a 6:15 pm start at Concord Golf Club and conclude by 8:00 pm.

Some frequently asked questions:

Isn’t Rotary just an old boys’ club?

No! Rotary is open to both men and women of all ages. We have many female members in our club.

Must I be a businessman or a professional to be eligible to join?

No! We welcome people from all vocations. To be eligible you need to have integrity and want to be involved in serving the community.

What exactly do you do?

We are a team of volunteers who want to contribute towards a better society. By using our different skills from our different vocations we are able to work in teams to achieve our goals. These include eradicating polio, furthering international understanding, and promoting high ethical standards.

We meet each week for dinner so that we can get to know each other better, listen to guest speakers and have fun! Projects and fundraising are hands on and you can be involved to the degree you desire!

How are your activities funded?

We raise funds through our financial contributions, Concord Farmers Market, Annual Charity Golf Day and Dinner, raffles and barbecues, as well as other projects from time to time.

Are Rotarians paid?

No! All work is done voluntarily.

If I join Rotary, must I come every week?

No. You are encouraged to come as often as you are able.

How can I help?

You can help the Rotary Club of Concord in a number of ways. You can assist with the running our monthy Concord Farmers Market, you can sponsor a hole at our Annual Charity Golf Day and Dinner, participate in raffles and barbecues, or come along to some of our projects and get your hands dirty! We could do with your unique set of skills! Alternatively, if you are too busy you might like to become a Friend Of Rotary. Contact us for more details.
