Fundraising Underway!

With only 7 weeks to go until Angela and Oscar head to the red centre to join Rotarians from around the country in ShelterBox's Trek4Shelter, Larapinta Trek Challenge our fundraising is well underway with our second event having been held at Concord Rotary's Farmers Market, Sunday, 6th June.  Setting up the tent is still somewhat of a challenge but we are sure with more practice we can only improve.  The bucket collection from the market was generously donated to our fundraising target by the Homebush Boys Interact Club who enthusiastically helped us with both setting up the market and ShelterBox tent.  Thank you enormously to Rotarian Peter Smith, member of the Rotary Club of Strathfield and Honorary member of our club for coordinating and organizing the Interact volunteers.

On the 26th July 2021, Angela and Oscar will board flights from Sydney to the Australian outback to embark on one of the most spectacular walking tracks in the world. The Larapinta Trail extends for 223 kilometres along the West MacDonnell Ranges from the old Alice Springs Telegraph Station to the peak of Mount Sonder.   Over 5 days they will cover 60 kilometres, on foot, of the most spectacular and rewarding sections of the trail following Aboriginal Dreaming tracks.  Each day they will witness the sacred sites of the Arrernte people, explore beautiful mountains, valleys, rivers and the dramatic desert ochre-landscapes and each night will experience the desert camped in swags under the stars with only the sounds of native wildlife.

With today's contribution we have reached 57% of our target of $6,000.  If you would like to help families in need by helping us reach our goal please visit our fundraising page at:

All donations over $2 are tax deductible and go directly to ShelterBox Australia to help families around the world who have been devastated by natural disasters, fire, famine, floods, earthquakes and humanitarian crises.
